For decades, facade cleaning in urban environments relied on costly, risky, and often environmentally demanding conventional methods, primarily involving alpinists, cranes, and chemical agents. In June 2025, a new chapter began in Hungary with the introduction of a completely chemical-free, Hungarian-developed facade cleaning drone solution.
ABZ Drone Ltd. and Fort Facility Ltd., representing a sustainable approach in the industry, presented their joint development: a chemical-free, Hungarian-developed facade-cleaning drone, which was used to efficiently clean the facade of Budapest’s iconic Palace of Arts (MÜPA). The demonstration took place on June 4, 2025, just ahead of World Environment Day. The event showcased the technology’s ability to perform safe, fast, and cost-efficient high-altitude cleaning, setting a new standard in building maintenance.
The cleaning of large, unique architectural facades is traditionally an expensive, time-consuming, and environmentally taxing process. Work at height involves significant risks, and the reliance on chemical cleaning agents contributes to environmental burden. MÜPA served as the ideal location to demonstrate a completely chemical-free, highly effective, and safe solution.
The ABZ Innovation C10 drone and the Fort Facility mobile cleaning system elevate modern aerial technology and sustainable cleaning to a new level.
This combination enables the cleaning of stone, concrete, metal, and glass surfaces faster, safer, and 100% chemical-free, reaching heights of up to 30 meters while fully complying with aviation regulations.
Péter Sági, Managing Director of Fort Facility Ltd., highlighted: “Drone technology allows us to clean hard-to-reach or negatively sloped facades without industrial alpinists or elevated work platforms, ensuring significant cost and time savings.”
The C10 drone and the Fort Facility mobile system clean the most difficult-to-reach surfaces without the need for alpinists or elevated work platforms—achieving rapid, safe, and completely chemical-free results. As a Hungarian development, it ensures long-term spare parts supply and professional operation.
Máté Keczer, Managing Director of ABZ Drone Ltd., stated: “The C10 is the world’s first drone specifically designed for cleaning, opening a new era in sustainable building maintenance.“
The DROZMÓ solution (Drone + Osmosis) represents a unique domestic innovation, combining efficiency, cost optimization, and environmental consciousness — proving that Hungarian technology can provide modern and sustainable solutions.
