Up to 500 m²/h Performance and Scaffolding-Free Efficiency:  How We Cleaned 340 m² of Industrial Surface in Record Time

 

High-altitude industrial cleaning has long been synonymous with expensive scaffolding, slow execution, and high risk. The combination of the ABZ Innovation C10 cleaning drone and the ABZ Clean Station radically rewrites the rules: premium-quality cleaning in a fraction of the time, with maximum safety.

The Challenge

 

We were tasked with restoring a complex industrial site to like-new condition:

  • A 220 m² brick building facade
  • A 30-meter-high, hard-to-reach industrial chimney (approx. 120 m²)

The task was further complicated by the roof surface surrounding the chimney, which was densely packed with protruding pipes and obstacles. Using traditional rope access techniques or scaffolding here would have required days of preparation.

 

The Solution: Intelligent Two-Phase Cleaning

 

To preserve the integrity of the surface while achieving perfect cleanliness, we utilized the two-phase technology of the ABZ Clean Station:

  1. Step 1 – Chemical Pre-treatment: Low-pressure, high-coverage foaming to dissolve stubborn dirt and grime.
  2. Step 2 – High-Pressure Deep Cleaning: A nearly 200-bar water jet equipped with a dirt blaster nozzle.

Results and Records

 

1. Brick Wall Cleaning (220 m²)

  • Execution Time: Just 1 hour (including setup, component changes, and battery swaps!).
  • Flexibility & Efficiency: The entire two-phase cleaning process was completed using only 3 battery sets.
  • Speed: The net speed of the two-phase cleaning was 220 m²/h. In single-phase direct washing mode, the technology can reach an incredible 440–500 m²/h coverage rate!

During the low-pressure foaming phase, the energy consumption of both the drone and the washing system is minimal. This technological advantage essentially provides “free flight time” for the chemical pre-treatment, significantly preserving battery life.

2. Cleaning the 30-Meter Chimney (120 m²)

  • Execution Time: Only 40 minutes.
  • Safety & Precision: 
  • Team members operated the drone from the roof with a direct line of sight. While the C10 drone handled the heavy lifting high above, the ground/roof operator continuously coordinated the hose management across the obstacle-laden roof—ensuring fast, accident-free operations.
