Cleared for U.S. Fields: The ABZ L50 Joins the FAA List of Approved UAS

October 6, 2026

We are proud to announce that the ABZ L50 has been added to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s List of Approved UAS under 49 U.S.C. § 44807, published on October 2, 2026. It is a milestone our team has worked hard for, and one our U.S. customers have been waiting for. Together with the ABZ L30 V2, already on the list, both of our spraying drones are now included.

What this means for U.S. operators

The list reflects a safety determination by the FAA. Agricultural aircraft operators whose Section 44807 exemption authorizes the use of aircraft on the list can now add the L50 to their fleet without filing a separate, aircraft-specific petition. Operations continue under the operator’s exemption and Part 137 agricultural aircraft operator certificate. With its FAA listing and FCC compliance, the L50 holds the aircraft-level federal clearances U.S. operators look for.

Built for demanding work

The L50 is Europe’s first 50-liter LiDAR-based spraying drone. LiDAR sensing supports stable flight height over uneven terrain, and ABZ’s Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) technology delivers uniform droplet size for precise, low-drift coverage. Its performance has already been recognized with the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award 2026.

Growing stronger in the United States

The United States is one of our most important markets, and this listing further strengthens our position there. Our growing network of U.S. distribution and support partners is ready to provide demonstrations, hands-on training and after-sales service.
